This listing is for a complete Dry Joint exhaust manifold replacement kit compatible with 2002-2004 Mercruiser 305 5.0L & 350 5.7L V-8 engines. These are the 7 degree risers for 2004 and before models. In 2002, Mercruiser improved the method of transferring water from the manifold to the elbow. This is called the “Dry Joint” exhaust system. If the passages eventually failed from corrosion the water would simply leak into the bilge of the boat and not inside the exhaust ports. This system uses external water passages. From 1983 to 2002 Mercruiser used an internal method of transferring water from the manifold to the elbow. This is called the “Wet Joint” exhaust system. In this system the water jackets are casted directly into the elbow.
