Handcarved Military Wood American Flag Wall Art Décor, LARGE (19.5” x 37”), Rustic Handmade Retirement Gift, Wooden Flag

THE OVERVIEW: This listing is for a Handcarved, High Quality LARGE (19.5” x 37”) Wooden American Flag featuring Military Branch Emblem. Each piece is HANDMADE (no CNCs) with care and attention to detail. These flags are made to appear rustic and handmade. Most of the flags you find on Etsy are made with CNCs or sourced from China - if that doesn't matter to you you can probably save some $$ and buy cheaper flags. I pride myself on making each flag by hand; that includes carving each and every star by hand as well as the military emblem.THE MATERIALS: Flags are made from Pine wood. The colors are created using a dyed stain. The "white" stripes and stars are the natural wood color after using a wood burning technique.THE PROCESS: Wood is hand selected, pieces are cut, and the flag is roughly assembled. The flag assembly is torched to accent the natural wood grains and knots. The wood is cleaned and stained. After the stain dries, I lay out the design for the 50 stars and get to work carving each one. After the stars are carved, I use a small torch to burn the stars to match the stripes. I then carve a small fissure in the middle of the flag and hand burn to create the charred look. The military emblem is laid out on the opposite side of the flag and hand carved as well. The color of the emblem side will correspond with the branch colors as shown in the branch emblem photo.THE FINISH: I finish all our flags with 3 coats of Satin Polyacrylic. I favor this product since it does not yellow over time like many Lacquers and Polyurethane products. We recommend indoor use only. If an outdoor display is what you intend, please let us know so we can finish the product with an outdoor finish, rather than Polyacrylic.DISPLAY: Each flag will have 50lb picture wire installed prior to delivery.
